Howard Bank Regional Baltimore Office Opens

November 04, 2013

Enjoying the festivities at the grand opening of Howard Bank's Towson branch were (from l.) Frank K. Turner, Jr., Howard Bank Executive Vice President and Regional Executive for Greater Baltimore; bank President & CEO Mary Ann Scully; Helga Weschke, Acting Director of the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development; and Baltimore County Council member David Marks of District 5. Weschke presented a proclamation welcoming Howard Bank to Baltimore County from County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

Howard Bank's first physical presence in the Baltimore market will open Nov. 4. The bank has secured and renovated two contiguous spaces in the heart of Towson. One location will serve as a branch and the other, a regional office, will house a senior executive and a team of business bankers, according to President & CEO Mary Ann Scully.

Howard Bank's newest facilities are located on Pennsylvania Avenue near the proposed Towson Row area, a major revitalization center. Scully announced in January that Howard Bank's growth strategy involved investing in facilities to serve the bank's growing customer base in Baltimore County and Baltimore City. The 18 month old focus on greater Baltimore reflects part of the company's goal to grow in size and scale to better serve the regional community.

Mary Ann Scully noted, "The ability to have hands on presence in one of our most attractive growth markets fulfills our strategy to show a real commitment to this county. We have enjoyed developing a growing number of relationships with Baltimore companies and residents and look forward to working more closely with the community in many ways. This has been a year of incredible opportunity for Howard Bank, and we are always grateful to our team and our customers for making these expansions successful."

Howard Bank has four branches in Howard County, one branch and in Anne Arundel County, one branch in Baltimore County and one branch in Harford County. In addition, Howard Bank has regional offices in Annapolis and Towson, and a headquarters and operating center in Howard County. The bank has recently announced intentions to open an additional location in the heart of Bel Air on North Main Street.
